Hovered at the window

Sleeping Pill Night

A bit of a Stone:

but enjoyable

Early Morning Moments - AROS

Silken bowls twinkle in the sunrise
Cradle dewy imaginations

Tree limbs cocooned in stealth
Conjure Frankenstein images

A Small Stone

For the first time in a very long time, I was inspired to write first thing in the morning.

Snowball puffs on moss covered limbs
Make brilliant a gray dawn

Michelin Man -AROS

One little Michelin Man marshmallow cloud in the west
Glows brilliant among the others’ dull grayness
Chosen by a single rising sunbeam

My small stone first thing this morning. A blessing reminder that one solitary being can light up the sky.

The Winter of Spring - AROS

Terrific inspiration on Writing Our Way Home this morning.

Orange blazes through the treetops that a brilliant cardinal exercises in
Throw open the sashes to welcome the warmth, the possibilities
Breakfast on the front porch while cats inspect and dog lolls
Ah, spring in winter, the winter of spring, the hope

Absorbed Within the Soul - AROS

I've haven't written first thing in the morning in a very long time. Plus, I've not been too all very mindful lately. A piece written on my favorite site, Writing Our Way Home, inspired me and awakened the moment I'd not been present enough to enjoy initially. Thankfully, our soul absorbs those moments and holds them for us until we're ready.

Absorbed Within the Souls

Naked limbs outside the window dance
They were shy and still a moment before
When I stood beneath in lighting gray
A rustle in the brush put Mellow in stance
And fluttering flakes dampened my nose
The moment gone without presence
Absorbed tho within the soul to know

I Want to Know Life

I want to know life
To taste the salty sweetness
Smell breezes and hear flower petals
As they unfold beneath the suns’ caress
I want to know life

AROS - Haiku

Thunderheads roll
Grayness creates earths’ blanket
Sun is the dream

AROS - In the Calm of the Storm

This morning the opening discussion post of Writing Our Way Home was from a lovely woman sharing the imagery of her home in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK. There was a response from another about all the snow in Pennsylvania. They inspired me to take notice of my landscape.

In the Calm of the Storm
Early morning doggie stroll in still, warm air broke away to tornado winds, blackened skies, and torrential rains atop this mountain. Windows opened during the calm, quickly shut as the storm arrived. Obviously won't make it to the library today so will need to go through my own for something to curl with beneath the blanket while the storms heads on

Weather is Weather - AROS

Weather is weather wherever.
Warm, cold rains, hot snow
Chicago saying:
Don’t like the weather? Wait a minute, it’ll change.”
Same in Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, anywhere you go
Just pack a suitcase for the day and don’t complain.

Comfy Armchair - 1/1/2012

Comfy armchair, Mello dog at my feet, kitties purr-curled
Bears stumble and fumble with back-to-back touchdowns
Wrapped in bright, warm  southern sunshine.

Small Stone's #12, 13, 14

I had a brilliant and inspirational idea for a writing prompt yesterday. Today, the following was in its place.

Observations
They come in a explosive blazes
Then disintegrate into floating ashes
In hair, on eyelashes, in piles
Meaningless bits of gray

AROS #10

Today, I am being lazy and stealing stones, but they are my observations, and they both have struck a resounding cord today:

"Eagle was never so strong as when he submitted to listen to crow." ~Dead Man

"Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experience." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Hermit Restored-AROS #9

He nibbles cautiously at the greenery
I chomp at the bit
He hops away at the sight of me
As I call it quits

The berries get plumper day by day
I watch the solar circuit
They’ll become jam, the old-fashioned way
As I restore the hermit

Small Stone #8

Come, let me take you on a tour of my lush solitude full of humming bees, cawing crows, chirping crickets, and pattering of raindrops the rustle the leaves.

Far nicer trip than through my mind,

Small Stone #5

The mind blinds and cripples
Only the heart
